Holland America Line Review

The ms Eurodam made her maiden voyage in the summer of 2008. This was the first of HAL’s new Signature class ships. Included in the new design is the Explorer’s Lounge bar, a luxury boutique for jewelry and an atrium just to name a few. The mid-sized ship for Holland America will hold 2,104 guest for voyages. To keep everyone at ease the Eurodam has state of the art navigation and safety systems.

The guests aboard will range in a multitude of ages from families in their 30’s with children to retired people. If guests are under the age of 21, they must be with at least one parent or guardian to get on the cruise. For children under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by both parents or guardians while on the vessel.

ms Eurodam: Dress Code
Holland America Line Review

HAL believes in being comfortable while on board the ship. This means that while you are out and about the ship during the day you can wear swim suits, shorts, sports wear and sun dresses just to name a few. Just remember your days at sea will be a little cooler, so bring a light jacket and pants to wear while you are on the ship. If you use the pool during the day, HAL asks that you just use a cover up while walking from your room to the pool and back.

As for the dress code during dinner, there are three categories that you will need to have. The first will be casual attire. Casual is just how it sounds where you are able to wear items such as polos and slacks for men and sun dresses for women, but please do not wear t-shirts, swim suits or jeans. Informal nights occur throughout the ship as well. During these nights men can wear a button up shirt with a jacket (a tie is optional) and women should wear a pants suit or dress. The third option that Holland America has is a formal night. The formal night usually happens twice per week and women will be seen wearing a gown or cocktail dress and women will be wearing a tuxedo or suit and tie.

ms Eurodam: Gratuity

HAL will give you an on board account when you enter the ship to charge everything to, so that you won’t have to deal with money while using the services. There will be an automatic gratuity of $10 per guest per day for dining. Also if you use the bar or wine bar a 15% service charge will be added to your account. If at any point a crew member goes above and beyond your expectations and you feel the need to tip extra, please feel free to do so.Your charges will be settled at the end of the trip before you disembark.
